Video Editing, Animation & Visual Effects
My name is Ryan Mix and I'm a video editor and animator living and working in Phoenix, Arizona. I graduated summa cum laude from Arizona State University with a bachelor of arts in Filmmaking Practices. I'm currently working full time for Student Media Creative Services, a division of ASU Student Media where I'm managing a team of student workers producing videos for various University clients and off campus advertisers. Additionally, I am actively freelancing as an editor, animator and video effects artist, where I've had the opportunity to work for IGN, Third Realm Entertainment and many others. These positions have provided me with the opportunity to produce and edit everything from departmental videos to short films to webcasting live events and have made me very comfortable operating a wide range of professional post-production and production equipment.
WELCOME
Despite enjoying the entire process of filmmaking, my real passion is post-production. I enjoy nothing more than taking raw footage and transforming it through editing, compositing and animating into something that is meaningful and serves a purpose. That being said I am well versed in both Mac and Windows operating systems and have a strong understanding of a wide range of software for video editing, animation and video effects, including but not limited to: the entire Final Cut Studio and Adobe Production Premium Suite, with a specialization in compositing and 2D animation in After Effects. In addition I'm actively honing my skills in 3D computer imaging with Autodesk Maya.
